How does a tattoo affect hair growth?

Question by C.G.: How does a tattoo affect hair growth?
I am planning on getting a tattoo on my calf but I am wondering how it will affect the hair on my leg. Will the hair stop growing or will it grow over the tattoo? Will the hair become less coarse? The only tattoo I have is on my shoulder and I have very little hair on my back but a lot more on my legs so that is why I'm curious. Thanks!
